How to map my new domain name without transferring registrar

I’m having trouble mapping my new domain name to my wp blog the old domain is still pointed at the blog and when I tried to map my new domain instead it says I have to switch registrars now my go daddy will not allow me to switch I’ve tried several time meanwhile,to map the new domain to WP and I cannot get a code to switch it from go daddy to WordPress registrar can we just map it and get rid of my old domain please
